Surprise to a non-believer!
Anyone that knows me, knows I don't believe in horoscopes or any other 'predicting' tools. But I did this Chinese gender predictor on 'thebump.com' today, just to see how accurate it is and ding ding ding! it's right! We're having a boy! lol Based on this, anyone that was 27 at the time of conception and conceived in March is having a boy! lol seriously? what the heck, but it was fun!
Rock the Red!
As we approach hockey season's opening week, we're gearing up to support our favorite hockey team, Washington Caps!!! I know we'll be going to many Caps game this season, and I've been looking at cute outfits for Trent. This is what I've found so far. Our next game will be against Boston Bruins on Thursday @ 7pm. You know we'll be glued to the TV.
Cutest little socks!

Warm booties to keep his feet warm @ the game!
CAPS onsies! showing team spirit!
Something else to keep him warm during the cold winters. :)

28 Week check up!
Today I had my 28 week Dr. appt, she checked my heartrate, bloodpressure, weight and measured my belly. So far I've gained 16 pds since I got prego and I've gained 2 pds since my last appointment, 4 weeks ago. I got to hear Trent's heartbeat too, and she said it was normal. :) Next appointment will be in another 4 weeks, wish we could get another sonogram. But they don't offer one, unless I'm high-risk, so I guess it's a blessing that I'm not getting a sonogram. But I still want to see him and see how much he's grown since our last sonogram. Will try to post some recent belly pictures tonight!

28 Weeks!!!
Today marks the first day of my third trimester. How exciting! only 3 more months till we meet Trent Marshall! :) He's the size of a Chinese Cabbage.. lol
weighs two and a quarter pounds, and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through my womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world. And he looks like this in my womb:
I've been noticing a lot more changes, bending over to pick things up from the floor is not so easy anymore. Also getting out of bed is a pain in the butt, and just little things here and there. I've been trying to do as much walking as possible. Hope my energy keeps up! I fell sleep while reading last night around 9:30!!! That's soooo unusual for me. Oh also, I've been feeling him move around and kick A LOT more! Almost feels like he's squirming around in my stomach! lol

Oops!
I think I spoke too soon when I posted about the start of the third trimester. I was going by my belly book, and at the time, ( I think 26 weeks), it had me started on the third tri already. Anyway, as I've read more (What to expect when you're expecting and other sources), this week is my last week of the second tri. Whoo hoo! can't believe it. He's been moving around more and his kicks and movements are definitely stronger. John is able to feel him too. It's pretty cool. I have my 4 week appointment on Thursday this week, just another routine check up. (no sonogram) :(

We had a good weekend. The weather is finally cooling down here, it was in the 70's this weekend. I can't wait till the leaves start changing. I started to do some 'fall' cleaning and even turned off the A/C and opened up all the windows. I took Mango for our daily walk yesterday, she loved it. She's such a happy dog! :)
I'll post some belly pics this week. Happy Monday!

Double Digits!!
Can't believe we have approximately only 92 days to go till Trent is here! Holy #@#&! lol Well this week is my 27th week and Trent weighs almost 2 pounds, like a head of cauliflower (his daddy's least favorite veggie) lol and is about 14 1/2 inches long with his legs extended. He's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers. With more brain tissue developing, his brain is very active now. While his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he were to be born now (hope not!). Friday, September 11, 2009
Labor Day weekend & the best Baby Shower!!!
Labor day weekend we went down to Orlando for my baby shower! It was such a blast! My mom made the cake, cupcakes and all of the food. Jen and Becki (two of my bestest friends) took care of all the decorations. It was so great so see everybody. Oh I miss them! Here are some of the pictures from the shower...

My Belly @ 26 weeks

Baby Mamma and Baby Daddy!

Week 26!

I just realized I skipped week 25, lol where did it go? I guess that was when we were in Orlando and just slipped right by me. This week, based on Babycenter, The network of nerves in his ears are better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches, size of an English hothouse cucumber, from head to heel.

Happy Third Trimester!
Can't believe today's the first day of my third trimester!
Head to heels, our baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. He's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.
