Fun, Relaxing weekend with Johnny!

I know I haven't posted in a while, it's been busy. We've had a great weekend so far. Friday was my day off and I got some of the errands/chores done around the house and outside and John had duty. I took Mango to the dog park, but there was NO one/NO dogs there. I waited around for about 45 minutes for Mango to smell and sniff on every single thing possible at the dog park but no one else showed up with their dogs. Finally a guy showed up with his dog, and Mango was all excited to play with his dog but he wouldn't let the dog off his leash. what the ? what's he point of bringing your dog to the dog park? So after Mango tried to harass, I mean play with his dog for a few minutes, I decided it's time to leave.
When I got home, I was going to plant some flowers in the hanging basket in the front porch but come to find out there's a bird nesting in it. She has two eggs in there, so cute. Naturally, she's very protective.

Yesterday we pretty much did nothing, which was nice. We took Mango for a walk later in the afternoon and walked to the beach area that's not too far from our house. Mango even got in the water (with a little help from John). We think she liked the cool water in this warm weather.






























After our walk, we went out to dinner to our favorite Mexican place and that's about it.

Today we went to the air show at Langley Air force base. Here are a few pictures from that.







Now we are watching the Caps vs. Rangers game on TV and CAPS are ahead 5 to 2 in the 3rd period. GO CAPS!

And last but not least, Mango wants to declare her love for Hello Kitty just like her mama!

Thankful Thursdays!

New Feature:

So I have decided to devote Thursdays' blog to list things that I'm thankful for in my life. So many times I see other people in situtations that it gives me a reality check how small my little hang ups are. When I read about the 2 American officers that were killed by a Afghani Army soldier, it just borke my heart. And made me realize how lucky I am to have the freedom to run in my neighborhood w/o fear anytime of the day: http://www.navytimes.com/news/2009/04/navy_afghan_shooting_040109w/

It also reminded me to be thankful that John is not in way of harm, although I'm proud of him to serve our country, I'm glad he's at home, where he is safe.

So here it goes for this week:

I'm thankful that:

1. John and I both have stable jobs.

2. We both have working cars.

3. We're both healthy and have no medical problems.

4. John is in the Navy serving our country.

5. We both have families that love us.

6. Thankful to have such great friends in our lives.

Although these might seem basic and simple, but take any of those away and life would be miserable.

So this week I'm on TDY on the West coast. Got here on Sunday, hung out with some really good friends and today back to work. On the plane on the way here, I took about 1oo aerial pictures! Ha! The landscape below just looked amazing!

Yesterday after lunch we went to Balboa Park. So many pretty flowers there, so you know I had to take like a 100 pictures of all the pretty flowers! ha ha!

Saw this RIDICULOUS car on the street! notice the artwork on the back bumper: "Statutory Grape" Couldn't get classier than this!

Btw, incase you haven't noticed, Blogger is doing something weird with the pictures and I just don't have the time or the patience to deal with it. i'm also trying to finish our taxes. ha ha! gotta go! Have a great night!

Spring has Sprung!

Today when I got home, I noticed tons of flowers have started blooming in our yard and by the front door. So after Mango did her business in the backyard, :), I ran in the house and grabbed my camera:

I have a big a@@ beatle stuck between my window and the screen! it's digusting and keeps moving back and forth. yuck!..will write later!

So many cute haircuts, so little time!

So on Tuesday while I was at work, I decided I was sick of my current haircut and needed a new haircut....again. Every once in a while, I just get sick of it and want/need a new style! Ha! So here are the pictures I went to hair salon with: ...and here what I ended up with..(drum roll):

Random pictures: yesterday while I was sitting thru 1.5 of traffic, I saw this and thought it was pretty funny. Makes you wonder if people have tried to pump gas w/o realizing it's all boarded up! ha!
Oh, tonight I decided to make a cherry pie, one of my favorite....

A while ago, my mom got me this awesome cookie cutter for the pie crust, i think it's Pampered Chef ...super cute! I had some technical difficulties when I was transferring the dough to the pie, but I was able to 'patch' most it, only lost 1 heart! ha!
