Till Divorce due us apart!

In the last few months 2-3 of my friends have gotten seperated and/or divorced. It is always sad and shocking to me. My first reaction is sadness, followed by deep emotional sorrow for the couple. What didn't work? Why? Did they try hard enough? I guess my ultimate fantasy is for all 'lovers' is to stay together till they die. Obviously that is not the case for many couples but it is still devestating to see couples and families break up.
In addition, I came to a deep realization this week. The American culture celebrates love, happiness, marriage, new babies but when it comes to death, divorce, and unhappy events, the person most intimately affected is left alone. There's no public annoucement from the wife/husband divorcing that pleads for help. Closest family members might help, but the divorce doesn't have a bridesmaids/groomsmen party to help her/him out during this crucial time in their lives. There are no 'divorcemaids' helping her pick up the pieces, when they go their seperate ways, when she doesn't feel like getting out of bed, cleaning, cooking, playing with her child or even living (for those first few days/weeks.)*
In the recent years, I've heard of 'divorce parties' that people throw. Either both exes and their family and friends are invited or the celebration is done seperately. I'm not sure if I agree and/or understand this growing trend. What are they celebrating? The fact that their marriage did not work? Why celebrate? Is the celebration for the family/friends so they know the wife/husband is 'A-O.K'? If divorce parties are a celebration of their relationship not working, then should they have had a mourning ceremony for their wedding day???
All in all, I'm still all for love. I love weddings and being a part of them. Ever so happy for couples to be together and find 'the one' to spend the rest of their lives with. No one said it'll be easy. There will be many bumps on the road, but the biggest accomplishment to me will be making it till the end with that one person. And that is worth celebrating!

Update

It's been almost a month since I've posted. School's been kicking my butt every week with projects/presentations/papers and Tbob is keeping me super busy. But we're doing good.

Pumpkin Patch!

Sunday afternoon, Jessica & I took Trent to a pumpkin patch near Jessica's house. oh my... Trent didn't seem so happy. We made circle with pumpkins and put him in the middle, but as soon as I set him down, he started getting upset. We were able to get a couple of pictures..but that's it. We each bought a pumpkin and left the farm.

Last night after we got home, Trent and I were playing around on the floor and he started playing with the walker Jessica gave me on Sunday and all of the sudden he started pushing it around on his feet. He usually pushes it around on his knees, but not this time so I just had to take a video. Although, it's only a couple steps, it's still pretty freakin' exciting! lol

Lately...

Lately, we've been very busy...as usual. But I have a TON of pictures to share. My friends, Becki and Brian visited last weekend and we had SO much fun. Went to DC, did sightseeing and hung out. Sad to see them leave..:(

I took the next few pictures with my phone the other night but they didn't come out very good. Trent just moves too fast for me. lol

Cold Mornings...

I love love love dressing Trent up in winter clothes. I got him a bunch of hoodies from Old Navy last week and they're just so cute. They got little bunny ears on the hoodie. lol

These 2 pictures are from this morning when I was dropping him off at daycare. I opened the back passenger door and he just looked over and smiled at me.

These next 3 pictures are from yesterday morning. He was fed and changed but kept grabbing the empty bottle, trying to put it in his mouth. ha! Look at him standing up by himself...

This weekend went by way too quick but I got a lot done. With the help of my sister, while she was watching Trent, I re-did the entire front lawn. I didn't think to take any pictures of it before, but here's the end product. I'm pretty proud of it, I think it came out real good.

I bought a new mac a couple of weeks ago, and tonight I was playing around with the pictures from Trent’s 9-month photo shoot on my computer and here’s a couple of pics I enhanced. What do you think? I like the antique look a lot.

Trent usually sleeps on the way to daycare, so this morning when I pulled in the parkin lot, I could tell he just woke up and started making his little noises.. "dada da", "ma ma ma" and as soon as I opened the passenger door, he looked over and smiled back at me. So you know I just had to grab my phone and snap a couple of pictures. He was in such a good mood.

Backpack baby

So this weekend I was going thru a lot of my stuff & getting rid of some things & one of those was my old backpack from ehem... college. So I cleaned it out & my sister put Trent in it. Can't believe he fits in it. LOL

9-month photo shoot

We finally got 9-month pictures done yesterday. They came out pretty good. Trent wasn't happy in the beginning, so after a diaper change and a full bottle, he was a much happier.
