24 Weeks!

wow! this is my last week in the 2nd tri-mester. I can't believe I'm soon to be in my third.

Based on Babycenter, our baby has caught up with an ear of corn in size and gained about 1/4 pound since last week. (Length: almost a foot.) Whoo hoo! Since he's almost a foot long, he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

Belly, belly, belly pictures!!!

So finally I got some time this weekend to post some belly pictures, it seems like it has really taken off the past couple weeks! I feel like my belly is growing overnight! seriously! I can't believe I'm almost towards the end of my second tri-mester, where did the time go? Before we know it, Trent is going to be here!!!! so here we go:
Week 22

Beginning of week 23

Towards the end of week 23

and this one I took at the NEX while John was waiting for his uniforms on Saturday!

We've been receiving lots of outfits from family and friends for Trent already, I finally had to get a tub to put them in. My mom brought a whole suitcase full of clothes with her last time she visited and few of my friends send us cute outfits.

Go Knights!!!

These two are from Jen B.

Our weekend was good, went by too fast. John had duty Friday, and he didn't get home till Saturday around 9am, we ran some errands around the town in Norfolk and then got hit by the storm so we headed home and stayed home for the rest of the night. And Sunday he had to work most of the day! Burnt! So I studied for my accounting class all day and hung out with Mango! :)

What fruit am I this week?

Baby Trent weighs about as much as a large mango -- just over a pound. (Length: more than 11 inches.)
Promise to post some belly pictures this weekend!

23 Weeks!

Wow! I can hardly believe I'm so far along! Based on Babycenter.com, the baby's sense of movement is well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that he's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound, you may be able to see him squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing him for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze him when he hears them outside the womb.

Week 22 Sonogram!

Yesterday we had our week 22 sonogram scheduled to check the anatomy of the baby and make sure everything is developing correctly. It went pretty quickly, from what the technician told me, he looks healthy but the Dr. has to look at it too and will call us if she sees something questionable. Unfortunately I will not have another sonogram, :( but I might go back to the private medical center and get another 3-D sonogram around 7 0r 8 months. :)
I will try to post some belly pictures this weekend! Hope everyone's having a great Friday!

Meatloaf!

So couple days ago while I was at work, I was thinking about what to make for dinner and the thought of meatloaf sounded too good to pass up! So I looked it up and came across this awesome recipe by Paula Deen on Foodnetwork, http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/bacon-cheeseburger-meatloaf-recipe/index.html

It's actually a Bacon Cheeseburger Meatloaf, yes it was as good as it sounds. It was pretty easy to make, took about an hour. and Man, was it good. John and I both had 2 pieces! John asked me not to make it too often, cuz he's going to over-eat! lol

here's the recipe:

Ingredients
1 pound ground chuck
10 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 (8-ounce) package sharp Cheddar, grated
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 cup bread crumbs, toasted
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/3 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
1 (3-ounce) can French fried onions
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, combine the ground chuck and next 8 ingredients, mixing well.
In a small bowl, combine the ketchup and mustard. Stir 1/4 cup ketchup mixture into meat mixture, reserving remaining ketchup mixture.
Press meat mixture into a 9 by 5 by 3-inch loaf pan, or shape into a loaf and place on a rack in a broiler pan. Spread remaining ketchup mixture over loaf. Bake 40 minutes. Top with French fried onions; bake another 10 to 15 minutes, or until meat is no longer pink.

Happy Tuesday!

John took this last Sunday, right before we found out we're having a boy! You can't see my shirt, but it says: Baby Love! Courtesy of John's mom! so cute! :)

I remember when my friend, Mandi was pregnant with her sweet daughter Bailey, she took a picture of her belly and I thought it was the coolest thing! So that I'm prego, I just had to do this. Thanks Mandi for the idea!!! :)

Week 21!

It sure is going by fast, already at week 21. Our baby Trent-- currently the length of a carrot -- weighs about 3/4 of a pound. (Length: 10 1/2 inches, head to heel.)

It's a boy!!!

It's been a while since I've posted, but we've been having technical difficulties with our computers and I've been super busy. Well I finally spent the $ last week and went in to private place to get the sonogram done and now we know we're having a little boy! So excited!

Our baby has grown as big as a banana. (Length: about 6 1/2 inches from head to bottom, and 10 inches from head to heel.)
